The beginning
It started in 1982.
I delivered my first baby at home in 1982. I was young, I was certain, and I had no idea I was beginning a 43-year conversation with the most sacred moments in human life.
What started as a calling became a career. What started as a career became a community. And somewhere along the way, I realized the families I was serving deserved more than just hands-on care — they deserved a system that worked.
Building something real
So I built a birth center.
I designed it. I planned it. I built it. I ran it for 20 years.
In those 20 years, my team and I oversaw more than 4,000 births. We trained 23 midwives. We mentored chiropractors, lactation specialists, doulas, and the clerical experts who would go on to support other practices across Florida. We weren’t just delivering babies — we were building the next generation of midwifery care.
I served as Program Director for a Midwifery Program for three years. I sat on the Florida Council for Licensed Midwives. I was one of the first midwives to test and shape the EHR systems being built for our profession — we were their guinea pigs, and that experience taught me exactly how a midwifery practice should run behind the scenes.
I know what it takes to run a midwifery practice — because I built one from the ground up, and ran it for two decades.
The turning point
And then I saw the problem nobody was solving.
Every midwife I trained, every practice I consulted with, every colleague I caught up with at a conference — they all said the same thing. “I’m drowning.”
Not drowning in births. Not drowning in patients. Drowning in paperwork. Labs that needed reviewing at 11pm. Sonograms sitting unread. Faxes piling up. Charts waiting until Sunday afternoon, when the kids were finally asleep.
They tried virtual assistants — but VAs couldn’t review charts. They tried students — but students couldn’t take liability. They tried billers, schedulers, general office help — but none of them spoke midwife.
So I built what I wished I’d had during those 20 years running my own birth center: a back-office team made entirely of experienced midwives.
Where I am now
This is what I do today.
I review charts. I process labs. I read sonograms. I message your patients with their results. I file your birth certificates. I send your faxes. I send you a daily recap so you walk into clinic already knowing what happened overnight.
I do all of it the way I would have wanted it done for my own practice — with the eye of a midwife who has seen 4,000 births and knows exactly which detail might matter most.
You stay the midwife. I stay in the background. The work gets done.
A career in midwifery

What I believe
How I show up for every practice I serve
The three things every midwife I work with can count on.
Responsive, always
Patients hate waiting on results — and so do I. Every lab, every sonogram, every fax gets handled the same day. No exceptions.
Detail-obsessed
One missed result, one overlooked note, one ignored fax can change an outcome. I read every chart like it’s my own patient — because for 43 years, it was.
In the background
It’s your practice, your patients, your reputation. I work where you can’t see me — so you can be where your families need you most.
Credentials & service
Decades of training, teaching, and certifications.
43 years in midwifery isn’t just experience — it’s a network of training, continuing education, and service to the profession itself.

A personal note —
From me, to you.
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably tired. You’re probably reading this between charting and a birth, or after the kids have finally gone to sleep.
I’ve been where you are. I’ve felt the weight of trying to be everything — a great midwife, a present mother, a present partner, a present human. I’ve sat at the kitchen table at midnight wondering how I’d keep doing this.
What I learned, after 43 years, is that you don’t have to do it all alone. Not the births — those are yours. But the labs, the faxes, the sonograms, the patient messages — those can be carried by someone who understands.
That’s all I’m offering. Not a service. Not a system. A midwife in your back pocket, so you can keep being the midwife your families need.
